The Theophilus, Cyrillus and Catharina group reads as a stratigraphic sequence. Theophilus is the youngest, Eratosthenian, with terraces and a central peak complex intact and its rim cutting into Cyrillus. Cyrillus is more worn and in turn overlies Catharina, the oldest and most degraded of the three. Relative ages here can be read straight off the overlaps, with no dating involved.
Theophilus is 99 km across.
