Langrenus lies on the eastern shore of Mare Fecunditatis, close enough to the limb that foreshortening makes the circular crater look oblong. It is Eratosthenian in age. The inner wall is terraced over a width of about 20 km, and the central peaks rise about 1 km from a boulder-strewn floor; crystalline plagioclase has been identified on them in the infrared.
